Tiny Wonder

Rufous hummingbirds were plentiful at my in laws rural property this summer(2016). These tiny birds are migrators, only giving us a short window through spring and summer during breeding season to enjoy them. Near summers end I was able to capture this young bird enjoying the nectar of the bee balm in their garden. After watching them for a few days, I learned how extremely territorial these tiny birds are. There was also a family of ruby throated hummingbirds cause a constant continuous battle over feeders and flowers.
