Winter Wonder

I watched this snowy owl from a good distance sitting on frozen wetland for a couple of hours before it finally flew. It was an incredibly windy chinook March day. I believe it was hunting for muskrats as it was sitting over an opening in the ice as the thaw had begun. These are amazing large owls to watch as they take over the baron prairie land during the winter months.
